Enable more inclusive and efficient agricultural and food systems at local, national and international levels. Increase the resilience of livelihoods to threats and crises. The Shared Services Centre (SSC) of FAO commenced its operations in Budapest, Hungary, in January 2008. Being responsible for providing a centralized support function to FAO offices and their employees globally, the Centre hosts a growing range of administrative processes including user support, individual human resources servicing, accounts payable, fixed-asset and vendor management as well as travel operations. The SCC - celebrating its 5th Anniversary in 2013 - has tripled in size in this short period of time currently housing nearly 150 employees. Given its success to further FAO’s mandate, the Centre is foreseen to grow progressively with additional functions in the coming years.
