Team / organisation unit description

Manage HR transactional activities for multiple countries in the areas of Compensation and Benefits, Resourcing and Recruitment, Exit and Post-Employment, Manage Payroll, Time and Attendance and Manage Employee Morale and Interaction. Process employee data management (EDM) and coordinate organisational management (OM) requests for approximately 40 countries. Activities involve entering and processing data in SAP, completing service request templates and ensuring high levels of data accuracy. Focus on high level of customer service and satisfaction while establishing good and clear working relationships with key business contacts to deliver an efficient and accurate service


Tasks and activities

  • Understand the relevant procedures and processes for the Businesses, as well as the internal GBS Europe processes
  • Provide HR administrative support for approximately 40 countries.
  • Provide first line support to in-country HR as and when required (reporting line issues, OM form completion, SAP queries, etc.).
  • Process and record all employee life-cycle events and data management updates in SAP.
  • Coordinate Organization Management (OM) updates with OM.
  • Manage other compensation and benefits processes (including spot bonuses, off-cycle salary increases and promotions).
  • Co-ordinate employee off boarding.
  • Support the annual pay review activity.
  • Support the Annual Cash Bonus (ACB) calculations, paperwork and payments.
  • Support and facilitate annual Global Share Match (GSM) enrolment and participation for Enhanced countries.
  • Adhere to all request management requirements in Siebel.
  • Ensure both SAP and BP OM best practices are followed.
  • Develop ad-hoc custom reports to support BP HR Advisors and HR Operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis, including, analyzing past problems or failures; perform apparent cause analysis, identifying causes and recommending action plans for issues or failures.
  • Notify or escalate to Tier 3 or manager when required
  • Maintain and adhere to process maps and standard data input forms ensuring the Standard Operating Procedures are updated and maintained on the relevant site (tbc)
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in CI initiatives
  • Contribute to the SOX compliance of HR processes (HUM415) and support the annual audit (tbc)
  • Adhere to the BP and GBS HSSE rules
  • Adhere to the tasks outlined in the EMS/QMS Systems of GBS Europe

Additional requirements (certifications, special knowledge, software etc.)

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant previous experience.
  • Experience in delivering HR administration and providing HR support to business customers in a client focused environment.
  • Experience of working with varied HR teams and dealing with individuals from different countries and cultures.
  • Experienced SAP HR transactional user (PA, OM, Compensation).
  • Understanding of HR systems and the importance of data integrity.
  • Experience in using ticket management systems.
  • Working knowledge of HR lifecycle processes with additional focus on Compensation and Benefits.
  • Fluent English knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding of customers’ needs / behaviours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals.
  • High degree of attention to detail and able to consistently deliver error free administrative activities.
  • Able to manage and prioritise own workload to ensure service delivery which is consistently compliant with both BP quality standards and Service Level Agreements.
  • Actively seeks clarification and support in areas of uncertainty.
  • Good IT skills with proven expertise in Microsoft Office, SAP experience essential.
