The Citi Service Center in Budapest has grown over the years from one stand-alone IT-function with 49 people to being amongst the largest service centers in Hungary. Today, close to 1,200 employees are providing services in various areas of Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk and Controls for Citi-entities in 55 countries in EMEA and for certain functions globally. 

The Citi Service Center in Budapest is part of Citi, the leading global bank. Citi has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 160 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.

The Citi Service Center in Budapest has a committed growth plan to hire 250 new employees in the next two years, by enhancing the service functions in the areas of Information Technology, Security, Technology Engineering and Markets Quantitative Analysis.

Team / organisation unit description

Citi Shared Services Global ID Administration (CSS GIDA) is a true global organization; we provide information security administration to internal and external customers worldwide (NAM, EMEA, LATAM, ASPAC). Our services include but not limited to: user access maintenance-, password resets for Citi's applications and client support on different communication channels (e-mail, phone, and ticket management).

GIDA Budapest has more than 300 colleagues locally and around 1000 globally. There are plenty of opportunities for our workforce to develop in different areas and build a career within Citi.

Tasks and activities

  • Create, modify, and delete user profiles in various systems
  • Reset passwords; enable IDs based on incoming client requests
  • Provide customer service via phone, e-mail and various ticket management systems
  • Ensure corporate information security policies are followed
  • Ability to acquire knowledge via internal trainings (class room & on the job)
  • Shift-work (24/7 and 24/5) including weekends / public holidays  



  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.
  • Being able to learn to use numerous different systems on a basic level
  • Ability to set priorities; attention to details and work under pressure
  • Has to be able to endure monotonous work
  • Flexibility to work in various shifts
  • High school graduation certificate



  • Enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 desktop operating systems
  • General knowledge of database servers, i.e. Microsoft SQL, Oracle, etc. is preferable
  • General knowledge of active directory infrastructure
  • Experience in an IT support or customer service role
  • College or University degree
